Teaberry Port House Demolished

Deteriorating, historic structure knocked down this week.

After several years of deterioration, Teaberry Port House was demolished this week.  United Water Spokeswoman Deb Rizzi said on Wednesday that the building was totally knocked down and the debris would be removed over the next few days.

The restoration of the historic building on Strawtown Road had been sought by community residents who were unsuccessful.  United Water, which owned the building and the 168 acre parcel of watershed property on which it was located, received approval for a demolition permit from Clarkstown on October 30.
