Welcome to the Firehouse! New City FD Hosts Open House

Volunteer firefighters reach out to community as part of safety effort.

Volunteers of the New City Fire Department on Sunday welcomed members of the community to their annual open house.

The program lets the community learn more about the all-volunteer fire department, which is located on Maple Avenue in New City, but it is also part of the fire department's fire safety outreach efforts.

As a long time member of the Department, it's great to see the support we receive from our community. Our sincere "Thanks" to all! The children had a great time learning about fire safety and climbing on the Fire Trucks. Congrats to the contest winners, especially Link School for winning the "Sparky" Fire Safety award. This is one of many community outreach efforts by the New City Fire Department's volunteers. They frequently host school children for fire safety programs at the firehouse.
