Final Day to See Emery Brothers Exhibit

The Historical Society of the Nyacks museum
will  show for the final time photographs and drawings of
architectural gems by master architects Marshall and Henry Emery on Saturday, Sept. 29.

More than anyone else, says Historical Society president Win Perry, those two brothers “defined the architectural character of Nyack.”  Structures designed by them include the Nyack Carnegie Library, the YMCA, St. Ann’s Roman Catholic Church, the Reformed and Methodist Churches, Oak Hill Cemetery gate, Memorial Park steps, numerous stores, and both grand and modest homes.

The museum is open from 1 to 4.  It is at 50 Piermont Avenue in the DePew House, adjacent to the Nyack Library.

Various other objects and pictures and documents pertaining to the Nyacks are also available for viewing at the museum.  Next month it will be open the same time every Saturday to show sketches of Nyack scenes  by popular local artist Bill Batson.
