Grammy-Nominated Singer Headlines Borderline Folk Music Show

Dan Schatz performs Sunday at New City Ambulance Corps building.

Grammy-nominated singer and guitar player Dan Schatz headlines the next concert hosted by The Borderline Folk Music Club, set for Sunday in New City.

Schatz plays many instruments, including the autoharp and banjo. He sings traditional songs, covers, and his own compositions which are written in the traditional style.

"Dan does it all," said Sol Zeller, president of The Borderline. "We first heard him perform five years ago at one of Jean Ritchie's garden parties and we knew then that we were going to book him sometime in the future.  Since then he has put out three albums."

Zeller said Seligman can be described as an acoustic/eclectic folksinger.

"In the three years that we have known her we have seen Maggie blossom forth from a regular at our song circles to an upcoming star in the folk world," Zeller said. "Her first album 'Rubato' was put out this past year.  I am sure you will all enjoy her immense talent."
The concert begins promptly at 2 p.m.  Admission is $20 per person, $15 for Borderline members. Just like all of the shows hosted by the club, audience members are asked to bring a cold pot luck dessert dish to share with four other people.
Zeller asks that folk music lovers planning on attending the concert let him know they're coming. E-mail him at solz1@optonline.net  or call 845-354-4586.
