Dick's Sporting Goods Opens This Weekend

West Nyack store will be the chain's 500th.

Dick's Sporting Goods will officially open its doors to the public in West Nyack this weekend with a three-day event.

The sprawling athletics and hunting store, located in the Palisades Center, hosted Clarkstown supervisor Alex Gromack Friday morning, and will welcome Yankee slugger Bernie Williams on Sunday from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. There will also be giveaways throughout the weekend.

The business opened Wednesday, Sept. 19, but began the fete with a ribbon cutting ceremony at 8 a.m Friday. Special extended store hours will be in effect Friday (8 a.m. to 10 p.m.), Saturday (8 a.m. to 10 p.m.) and Sunday (9 a.m. to 8 p.m.)

"We look forward to opening our new Dick's Sporting Goods store in West Nyack and becoming part of the community," said Lauren Hobart, Dick’s Sporting Goods Chief Marketing Officer. "We want to serve athletes of all ages in West Nyack by providing the equipment they need to help them excel."

The West Nyack location marks the 500th store opening for the chain, which began in 1948.
