While the has been open since July 16th, owner Andrew Barrett held the official ribbon-cutting ceremony Wednesday morning.
It’s the second Clarkstown Pharmacy location, with Barrett opening one up in West Nyack 22 years ago. The New City location is in the DeCicco's Marketplace shopping center next to Big Daddy's Liquor. Barrett said his goal for the pharmacy was to combine the local pharmacy feel with all the top-of-the-line service one might find at the larger chain pharmacies.
Barrett was joined for the ribbon-cutting by fellow employees of the new pharmacy, State Sen. David Carlucci, Rockland County Legislator Ed Day, Clarkstown Town Supervisor Alex Gromack, Clarkstown Town Council member Stephanie Hausner and members of the New City Chamber of Commerce, including President Steve Weissblat.
“This particular store is filling a great need,” said Day. “I salute Andy for his entrepreneurship in opening up this fine store. I think it’s really going to succeed.”
Day himself is already a customer.
At the grand opening, Barrett raffled off some items from the store, had coffee and bagels for his guests and McKesson, one of Barrett’s suppliers, was there with an RV conducting healthcare screenings to test blood glucose, cholesterol, A1C, blood pressure and more.
