Tallest Ropes Challenge Course Opens in Rockland (VIDEO)

Their grand opening was today at noon at the Palisades Center

A new aerial adventure opened Friday at Palisades Center.

The Palisades Climb Adventure will add to the eclectic entertainment mix at Palisades Center and will offer a fun and unique experience for visitors, promoters said.

"Today is the official grand opening. We opened at noon today," said Kevin Clark, the attraction's General Manager. "Up until New Year's, we’ll be open 10 a.m. - 10 p.m. until new years. We'll be here year-round."

Their hours of operation will change in 2013.

The five-level, custom designed ropes adventure course stands 85 feet tall, making it the tallest indoor course. It is located within the center court atrium, with access on level 4 between Dave and Busters and Forever 21. A climb costs just under $15.

There is no age restriction, but there is a height requirement of 48 inches. Children need to be accompanied by an adult.

It contains 75 different challenge elements, including a tremor bridge, tension traverse, a vertical rope ladder, a quarter cargo net, a two line rope bridge, an alternating spaghetti handline and a three line lumber rope bridge. Each element includes a different ropes configuration such as bridges, tight ropes, loops and balance beams, obstacles present challenges of strength, balance and agility.

This cut and paste "article" is confusing as can be. Is it "Today is the official grand opening" as in Paragraph #2 or the final paragraph: "Construction on the facility will continue throughout December, and the attraction is expected to open toward the middle of the month in time for the holidays." ? Paging an editor familiar with what journalism is supposed to be about.

Why not be more informative and tell us what the cost is. I also concur with Bob, above, about the shoddy construction of your "article".

Cost would have been good to include here, but its also easy to find that on the web ($14.99/person - http://www.palisadescenter.com/). If you look at her history, I think you'll find Kim Tran has a way above average track record in her articles and gets to more activities in our area than we should should expect any one person could so any slips here are the exception and not the rule. So let's get some perspective folks, remember its good-will-towards-men season and go a little easier on the criticism.

I experienced this, this past weekend and it was quite entertaining and quite scary. As far as safety, you are very secure. For a person, afraid of heights, it was still very scary. I was almost embarassed at how these little children were just "running" through it. If you have an adventurous child or someone you know, I highly recommend it.
