Sunday’s New City Street Fair started at 10 a.m. and three hours later almost all 140-plus vendors were either packed up and gone, or packing up to leave.
While the fair was scheduled to go until 5 p.m., rain ended the day early. There is no makeup date scheduled, but this year the fair expanded to twice a year, so there will be another street fair Sept. 2.
Even with the forecast calling for rain, including a for Sunday into Monday, New City Chamber of Commerce President Steve Weissblatt said that all vendors that signed up for the fair attended on Sunday.
Before the rain took over the event, people enjoyed the food, games, music and merchandise available from local vendors.
