Lanterna Tuscan Bistro Hosts Three-Course, Wine-Paired, Prix-Fixe Dinner Plus Sgroppino Cocktail
Chef Rossano Giannini's Lanterna Tuscan Bistro in Nyack will serve a three-course, prix-fixe dinner on Wednesday, July 31, to be accompanied by paired wines. Dinner will conclude with a Sgroppino cockail (chilled prosecco, vodka, frozen lemon sorbet and fresh mint).

Antipasti/Appetizer:
- Antipasto Misto. Cold antipasto. Italian meats, cheeses and marinated vegetables
- Polpettine di Granchio. Handmade crab cakes, roasted red pepper, Aioli dipping sauce
- Misticanza Selvatica. Exotic field greens, tomato, sunflower seeds
- Appetizer wine: 2011 Poggio Vigneti chardonnay
- Pollo Alla Valdiniovole. Chicken breast stuffed with asparagus, smoked mozzarella and prosciutto with light truffle cream sauce
- Penne al Ragu D'anatra. Penne pasta with savory duck ragu
- Merluzzo con fruitta di mare. Fresh Mahi Mahi sautéed with white wine, fresh mussels, herbs and tomato
- Spaghetti Amatriciana. Spaghetti with fresh tomato, carmelized onion, pancetta, and freshly grated parmiagiano
- Gregory Lynn 2011 Shiraz, Australia. cherry and blackberry flavored
- Tavernelle val di Pesa 2011 chianti, Toscana, raspberry and blackberry fruit nose
- Strudel di mele. Homemade apple strudel with raisins and pine nuts. Topped with vanilla bean gelato
- Tiramisu. Homemade classic Italian dessert of Marscarpone cheese, espresso, and Lady Fingers
Chilled prosecco, vodka, frozen lemon sorbet and fresh mint
The cost of $42 per person includes wine; tax and gratuity are additional.
Giannini founded the Federation of Italian Chefs of America in October, 2000 and served as its first president. The organization became an affiliate of the International Federazione Italiana Cuochi, formed in 1960 to preserve and promote the authentic cooking of Italian food worldwide.
