The National Weather Service has extended the tornado watch until 9 p.m. The wind advisory has also been extended until 9 p.m. with the possibility of 50 mph gusts. A line of strong thunderstorms is expected to move into Rockland County between 7 and 8 p.m.
With blustery and wet weather expected to continue through the overnight, the number of customers without power in New City may climb. About 1,260 in the Reservoir Drive neighborhood are without power. Approximately 1,000 customers in the Goebel Road and Scher Drive area have lost service also.
