While the threat of dangerous weather is over in Rockland County, a handful of O&R customers in New City are still feeling the effects. Seven customers along Homestead Road may not get power back until 5 a.m. More than 1,260 customers on Bluebird Drive, Bradley Drive and Anton Court were without power for several hours but had it restored around 9:30 p.m.
More than 140 customers in Upper Nyack got power back in the late evening also. There were lingering outages from downed trees and wires due to the strong wind gusts and steady downpours in Palisades and New Hempstead, where 75 and 67 customers respectively were without service after 9:30 p.m.
The National Weather Service is still forecasting thunderstorms during the overnight hours, but nothing as severe as what passed through Rockland County during the day.
