Construction crews were working on the upgrade to the CSX railroad crossing on Lake Road in Congers at midday. The project which began around 8 a.m. and is expected to continue to approximately 4 p.m., appeared to be causing minimal traffic disruptions. Signs warning of the road closure appeared at intervals before drivers reached the crossing. Still a few vehicles were seen turning around as they neared the railroad tracks and blocked street.
