Rockland Hosting EMS Providers Conference

Four-day program includes educational sessions and awards ceremony

Rockland County is hosting the NYS Volunteer Ambulance and Rescue Association Annual Pulse Check Conference. The conference, which began Thursday, runs until Sunday, October 14 at the Crowne Plaza in Suffern. It includes a competition that demonstrates life saving skills at 7 p.m. tonight. Adult and youth teams will compete against one another during the scenario, which is open to the public.

The conference features educational sessions designed to enhance the knowledge and skills of Emergency Medical Services (EMS) providers.

“Our EMS providers should be very proud to be honored on a statewide
level," said County Executive C. Scott Vanderhoef. We cannot thank them enough for their tremendous efforts in assisting our residents in their time of need,”

A trade show and banquet will also take place with the presentation of statewide awards to winners in several categories.  This is the first time the statewide conference has been held in Rockland.

The County held its annual EMS awards ceremony in May where EMS providers within the County were honored for their service.  In June, Vanderhoef presented regional awards to EMS providers in the County.

On-site registration to the conference is available for a fee. For more
information, contact Conference Chairperson Teri Hamilton at 914-262-6969.
