Storms Producing Torrential Downpours, Flooding Cars

National Weather Service says Hazardous Weather Outlook extends into evening. Some power outages.

 

Rockland County has been experiencing heavy rainfall, strong winds and hail through the afternoon. The Hazardous Weather Outlook continues into the evening with scattered thunderstorms and possible gusty winds and hail. 

The National Weather Service reports "Any storms which develop will be capable of producing torrential rainfall which could lead to areas of flooding."

Reports of flooded cars coming from South Main Street in New City and Ludvigh Road in Nanuet. Some downed trees reported.

O&R reports 287 customers without power in Clarkstown, down from 1,522. Service is expected to be restored before midnight. Earlier in the evening, O&R reported just over 2,000 customers without service in Rockland County.
