The Eugene Levy Field House at Rockland Community College was filled with the sounds of nervous performers barking at each other before getting a chance to strut their stuff before the judges.
No, this wasn't an audition for American Idol but the Rock-Wall Winter Classic Dog Show, co-sponsored by the Wallkill and Rockland Kennel Clubs.
Hundreds of dogs of many different breeds were groomed, primped and pampered before taking to one of the many rings to compete against others in their breed. Great Danes to the left, Afghan Hounds to the right, Old English Sheepdogs standing next to Rhodesian Ridgebacks--all waited together to enter the rings.
The show continues Sunday from 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m.
