Senator Gillibrand Endorses David Fried

U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand endorsed Democrat David Fried for Rockland County executive. She made the announcement on Saturday and described Fried as “a dedicated public servant.”

“His experience as a judge shows he has the integrity to make the tough decisions to tackle Rockland’s fiscal crisis,” said  Gillibrand. “I’m proud to join my friends, Congresswoman Nita Lowey and former President Bill Clinton, in supporting David Fried for county executive.”

Senator Gillibrand joins other New York leaders and unions supporting Fried including: Assembly members Ellen Jaffee, Ken Zebrowski and James Skoufis, the Rockland County Corrections Officers and Spring Valley Police Benevolent Association.

Fried’s campaign platform includes a plan to reduce the county executive’s salary, shrink the size of the legislature, and reorganize government to make it more efficient,

“Senator Gillibrand is a tireless advocate for Rockland County and New York State,” said Fried. “It’s critical the next county executive have positive relationships with our federal and state legislative representatives. I look forward to working with Senator Gillibrand and her office in helping lead Rockland forward.”

Former President Clinton will be in Nyack later today at a fundraiser for Fried, who was a member of his staff.
