Clarkstown Holds Veteran's Ceremony and Adopt-a-Spot Dedication

Veteran’s Ceremony and Freedom Causeway/ Adopt-A-Spot Dedication

During the Veteran’s Ceremony the Town Board will thank our Veterans for the sacrifices they have made for our Country, and officially dedicate what we now call the Freedom Causeway; a roadway lined with American Flags in honor of those who have fought for us in battle and those that are serving in our nation’s Armed Forces.

The Town will also recognize those involved in the Adopt-a-Spot project including Mr. Landscape, Inc., who adopted this location and Michael Pointing from United Water, who donated their property for the new Adopt-a-Spot.  The Town will also honor the 2014 Rockland County Veteran of the Year.

The Adopt-A-Spot program is administered by Highway Superintendent Wayne Ballard and is part of an ongoing effort by the Town to beautify the entrances to our downtown hamlet centers.  There are several other Adopt-A-Spots around the Town. Supervisor Alexander J. Gromack and the Town Board announce the Town of Clarkstown is holding a Veteran’s Ceremony and Adopt-a-Spot dedication on Congers Road near Strawtown Road in New City.
