We are pleased to announce the 50th year anniversary of the Clarkstown Soccer Club.  The Clarkstown Soccer Club is a non-profit soccer program that takes pride in its dedication of the education and development of players in the wonderful game of soccer.  Our greatest satisfaction comes from seeing our players develop their skill and sportsmanship as they move throughout the program and become fine young men and women who have an appreciation and love of the game of soccer.

This year alone, Clarkstown Soccer Club has close to three thousand players and seven thousand parents and coaches throughout the NY/NJ area, participating in our well known, large youth, mens and women's programs overseen by our Director of Coaching, Mr. Kevin Grogan, a former Manchester United Player.

Fifty years ago, the CSC competed in the German-American Football Association, (GAFA), with a Mens Reserve team and a first Division team.  By 1970, the clubs name had changed to the Clarkstown Soccer Club, Inc. and the mens first team was competing in the "Major League" of GAFA, which was the highest division, in the best league of US soccer at the time.  By 1972, there were a total of seven travel teams competing, under the CSC banner, and our recreational programs had yet to start.  These programs participate at both the local and national level.

CSC's continues its tireless service to the community and players not just for soccer but by also promoting a healthy and active lifestyle to be enjoyed for a lifetime.
Clarkstown Soccer Club will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary during a black tie optional dinner/dance to be held at The Colonial Inn, 545 Tappan Road, Norwood, NJ on Friday, November 30th, 2012.  Tickets are still available for purchase, please call Danny at 914-584-8111.

What professional doesn't spend $500 per year on out of pocket expenses related to their jobs?Read More Staples offering 10% (or 5 in some cases) is hardly an example of the community getting involved. Thankfully, there are other examples of the community and PTA's getting involved and providing needed services. Clarkstown and surrounding areas hardly have substantial unmet needs in their classroom, thankfully.

I guess better late than never. LaCorte is serving his 4th year as Mayor and was Trustee for I thinkRead More 4 years before that. This year is the only time he has brought the idea to the village about participating in this program. He is motivated by the opportunity of getting positive press for his County Executive campaign. The village should have been involved in this program ( as well as the Americorps program) long before this. On a positive note, hopefully the Village will continue this worthwhile partnership for many years to come.

George, don't you have enough to do straightening out the affairs of Clarkstown. Overtime in theRead More Police Department is rampant and the Town Attorney is out of control. As Tom Nimick says, we need an outside auditor for that operation since taxpayers were abused with the hiring of a political operative Jay Savino who I understand is singing like a canary. Get on the right side George before the FBI comes a lookin" I hear that the Gromack war chest is the first place they are looking for clues. Do the right thing George or you will get trampled with the rest of them.

Congratulations, George. Now about your other responsibilities as a member of the Town Board withRead More primary oversight over budget and expenditures: Won't you be the one to propose the needed audit of the Office of Town Attorney? You know the problems exist - likely you know more about the problems than I do. It is sad to see you silent in the face of the abuse of patronage. When will we hear your voice on it?

The new format is attractive but it is hard to find the comments that go with stories.
