Let’s face it; the holidays can put a significant drain on your bank account and your energy level if you let them. With so little time and so much shopping to do it can be hard to stay on budget, and get everything done on time.
The Home Aides of Rockland Goods & Services Auction can help you address your gift-giving list, while also raising important funding for in-home care for the frail elderly in the Rockland County community. The event will be held Saturday, November 17, 2012 from 7:30-10:30 pm at the Comfort Inn in Nanuet.
With over 120 items at the auction, there will be something for every budget and interest including items specialty items such as:
- 1-week Vacation House at Timberlane Four Season Resort in WV
- 3-nights at condo on the beach in Provincetown, MA
- Sewing lessons
- Childrens’ birthday parties
- Dinners and local services gift certificates
- Car detailing
- Items like hand-made quilts, electronics, household appliances, original art, designer bags and boots, and hard-to find holiday toys.
- Payroll services for 25 employees for 6 months
Cecilia Halverson, Executive Director of Home Aides of Rockland says, “The competition for philanthropic dollars continues to be fierce. Our auction is an affordable and fun event that has the potential to raise significant funds needed to provide care for our clients. All of the proceeds from our auction will be used to support vital in-home services for low-income elderly adults in our community who are not eligible for other programs such as Medicaid. In addition to participating in one or more of five ongoing auctions, guests will also enjoy an hors d’oeuvres and dessert buffet.”

This program provides financial assistance to clients who do not qualify for Medicaid, yet lack sufficient financial resources to afford needed home care services.
