All are welcome to join in celebrating Jewish Heritage with a series of events beginning on February 26 with a video presentation and inspirational talk by the creator of the humorous video series, “Jew in the City.” All events are open to the public and free. Videos and lecture by Allison Josephs, creator and producer of “Jew in the City,” a popular series of videos, blogs and articles. Allison uses humor and insight to break down myths and stereotypes about Jewish observance and to reveal the depth and beauty of Jewish heritage. Allison has been interviewed by The Wall St. Journal and on the TV show, What Not to Wear, among many others. The Evolution of Jewish Music with LIPA
Lipa Schmeltzer, an RCC student and internationally famous Chassidic singer and composer known for his catchy songs and elaborate costumes, has been called “The Jewish Elvis.” Lipa will take participants on a journey through Jewish song in this interactive workshop. He has released more than 10 solo albums. His popular and often comical musical videos include, Hang up the Phone and Mizrach, Mizrach.

“Daughter of Three Religions” - Film screening & book discussion with Sadia Shepard
Sadia Shepard is an American author and filmmaker with a Muslim Pakistani mother and Christian American father, who discovered as a teenager that her grandmother was originally from the Indian Jewish community, the Bene Israel. In response to her grandmother's dying wish, Sadia embarked on a journey to India to research and reconnect with her ancestral roots. The result is her documentary film, In Search of The Bene Israel, and memoir, The Girl from Foreign.
