"History in Your Own Backyard" - Daytrip to Historic Cemeteries presented by the HSRC

The Historical Society of Rockland County (HSRC) is pleased to continue its multi-year series of historic Rockland County day trips.  The series began in June and is expected to extend through 2015.   The 2013 series will continue with trip #2:  The Cemeteries of  Orangetown and Clarkstown on Saturday, September 21.  This trip will include visits to

the following cemeteries: Snyder, Mount Moor, Old Clarkstown Reformed Church, Greenbush, Tappan Dutch Reformed, Rockland (Sparkill), Oak Hill, Old Mountain Road and more!

A knowledgeable guide will board the bus at each stop, presenting the history of each cemetery.  In addition guests will learn about some notable people buried at each cemetery.  Although guests will be disembarking at 2 or 3 cemeteries, these stops will NOT involve a lot of walking.  The trip will conclude after a delicious lunch at Casa Del Mare Restaurant in Nyack.

The Sepetember 21st day trip begins at Casa Del Mare Restaurant at 8:45am and ends after lunch (approximately 2pm). Trip fee is $69 per person, and $64 per person for members of the HSRC and includes bus transportation, guided tours and a gourmet lunch.  Space is limited and pre-paid reservations are required.
