Narrative Critique - With Writing Prompts/In-Class Exercises

A critique session where all participants are given simple and fun writing prompts. We will ask “What works and why?” when we share our writing. The central question will be, “Is the form it’s in, the structure, and the pace helping or hindering the essential goal of the narrative?” The end goal is to help the writers apply what they’ve learned about narrative. It is part three of a three-part series on Narrative Voice taught by Peter Bricklebank, a Pushcart prize nominee who has taught at such esteemed programs as NYU and National University’s MFA program. This event is funded in part by Poets&Writers, Inc. with public funds from the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of Governor Andrew Cuomo and the New York State Legislature.
