Community Corner

New City Community Cleanup

Join volunteers of all ages in removing tons of litter from our streets,
parks and waterways during Keep Rockland Beautiful’s Great American Cleanup Campaign held throughout April and May.

The 2014 campaign kicks off in New City on April 5th with a Community Cleanup Event - where neighbors pick up supplies, enjoy refreshments and
exchange ideas before/after cleaning up nearby sites (for a full list
of events or to register: www.KeepRocklandBeautiful.org).

At the kick-off, the winning t-shirt from
KRB’s t-shirt design contest will be revealed. Submissions came from schools
around the county, from teens ages 14 – 17. The hunt for “Cleanup KiRBy” will also
begin: anyone who finds this garden gnome/KRB mascot wins a prize.

Daniel Caprara, who is leading
efforts this year, knows it’s going to be a challenging year: "Because of
the harsh winter, downtown revitalization project, and the New Hempstead Road
construction, our cleanup will be particularly critical. It’s time to get
busy!"
