Senator David Carlucci (D, Rockland/Westchester) will be organizing a public forum on the Affordable Care Act this Wednesday October 30th in the New City Library starting at 6:00 pm. The forum was organized in an effort to help community residents understand changes that have occurred under the federal health care law. Experts in the health field will be on hand to explain the new exchanges in details and field any questions the public may have.
Specifically health experts will discuss how these changes will impact the everyday citizen, what requirements there are for coverage, how to navigate the New York Health Benefit exchange, how small businesses will be effected and how offices like ours and the State/County Departments of Health can help individuals navigate through the new information.
The experts include Alice Yaker, Director of Community Outreach for the New York State Department of Health, Nancy Haggerty, Rockland County Department of Health Program Coordinator and Mark Santiago, Vice President of Hudson Health Care.
