Singer/songwriter Ari Hest in Concert

Acclaimed singer/songwriter Ari Hest will be making his debut concert appearance  at the Acoustic Café Music Series  on Saturday, March 22nd. Special guest Honor Finnegan, the Susan Boyle of quirky indie folk, will open the show.

Blessed with a rich, weathered baritone voice and a soaring falsetto, Ari is an artist with an exceptional ability to connect to listeners and live audiences in a way that few singer-songwriters can. Over the past half decade, Ari's been building his fan-base through a savvy combination of old-school essentials: hook-filled, classically structured pop-rock songs, charismatic presence, natural talent, musical chops and determination.

Hest's music has been featured on numerous television shows including Private Practice, Army Wives, and One Tree Hill. He's also scored a film called Dreamriders, which won several independent film awards. And throughout his career, he has toured worldwide relentlessly to support his records, most recently in Israel as well as several European countries.

Ari has released seven albums, three EPs, and "52" in 2008, an innovative project whereby he wrote, recorded and released a new song every Monday for a full year.
Drawing inspiration from a wide range of musical influences, the songs on his latest CD, The Fire Plays, fuse the sounds of 70's pop era music akin to Gordon Lightfoot and James Taylor with the sprawling electric guitar soundscapes you'd hear from artist/producers like Ry Cooder and Daniel Lanois. Ari is currently in the studio recording his next CD.
