Community Corner

"Someday Melissa" Movie Screening

Judy Avrin, Founder and Chair of Someday Melissa (somedaymelissa.org) will speak to the Rockland community about the dangers of eating disorders and the importance of early treatment at a special event presented by Rockland Jewish Family Service (RJFS) and NY State Senator David Carlucci. The event will include a screening of “Someday Melissa,” a documentary about Melissa Avrin, Judy’s daughter, and her battle with an eating disorder. A panel discussion will follow Avrin’s remarks and the movie screening. The event is free and open to the public (a $5 donation to Rockland Jewish Family Service is suggested).
