"Spring Break" Enrichment Classes for Children Ages 5~13

Special Enrichment Program During Spring Break Week - April 14th through April 18th

Primoris Academy is pleased to announce a special “Spring Break” Enrichment Program for 2014.  The majority of the schools in our area (including Primoris Academy) have chosen the week of April 14th through 18th as their “Spring Break.” We decided this would be a great opportunity to offer an fun-filled enrichment program for students staying in the area. This is one of two enrichment program opportunities during the Spring of 2014. The other is our After-school Enrichment Program. Below are the details of the Spring Break program.

Spring Break Enrichment Program Summary:

  • Enrichment classes are 5 consecutive days Monday, April 14th through Friday, April 18th
  • All classes are open to students ages 5 through 13 (classes will be divided by age as necessary)
  • There are options to take half-day morning, half-day afternoon, or full-day classes
  • Early drop-off (8:00 AM) is available
  • After-care (up to 5:00 PM) is available
  • These enrichment program classes are open to both Primoris Academy students and non-students
  • Space for each class is limited and will be assigned on a first-come, first-serve basis

Morning Program

The morning program includes two thought-provoking classes including one in math and one in science. Below is a description of each class:

Exploring Geometry:
What is a rhombus?  How many faces does a tetrahedron have? Where did the word geometry come from? Have fun engaging in hands on exploration of geometric shapes and the history of geometry.

Slimy Science:
Did you know that scientists and engineers cannot use new materials to develop new technologies and improve old ones until all of the physical and chemical properties of the material are fully understood? Join us in exploring and understanding the messy chemistry behind polymers, suspensions, and pliable solids. Investigate the consistency of slime and how it reacts when it experiences an external pressure, such as a tug.

Afternoon Program

The afternoon program includes two exciting classes including one in music and one in art. Below is a description of each class:

Music & Me:
Children will experience rhythmic and instrumental exploration to help improve hand-eye coordination, focused listening, imaginative play and other developmentally appropriate musical activities. The students will delve deeper in to musical exploration and education.

Art Collage – Man-made vs. Organic:
The students will learn about the shape differences between man-made objects versus naturally occurring organic materials found in nature. We will look at a variety of artists that use influence from the two different sources. Students will create collages for each category, strengthening their aesthetic understanding of the world around them as well as their ability to create a unified composition.

Schedule and Fees:

  • 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM    Full Day Program – $450
  • 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM    AM Half Day Program – $300
  • 1:00 PM – 3:00PM    PM Half Day Program – $200
