White Cane Awareness day

WHITE CANE AWARENESS DAY!

for the Visually Impaired (AVI) and Co-sponsors,
NY
State Commission for the Blind, Rockland Independent Living Center, and Lions Club #20 R-1 are happy to announce Rockland County White Cane Awareness Day.

This is an annual nationally designated day celebrating the significance of the White Cane and the independence it affords visually impaired and blind individuals.

AVI is a non profit organization serving Rockland and Orange Counties. The organization provides comprehensive vision rehabilitation, mobility instruction, employment placement, and social work services to visually impaired children and adults.

Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in demonstrations wearing simulation glasses and hear personal stories of achievements from visually impaired and blind individuals.

Note: Please bring brochures or business cards from your agency/business for the informational table.
