Keep Rockland Beautiful launches 2013 Great American Cleanup

Keep Rockland Beautiful hosts Annual Leadership Breakfast to launch 2013 Great American Cleanup.

Keep Rockland Beautiful launched the 2013 cleanup campaign yesterday with it's Annual Leadership Breakfast at City Line Family Restaurant in New City. The event brought together sponsors, volunteers and local government partners who shared their reasons for being involved in the Great American Cleanup.

KRB's Executive Director Sonia Cairo thanked this year's Event Sponsors (listed below) and discussed the goals for the cleanup which include growing the 12 Community Cleanup events, improved separation of recyclables and working with Adopt-A-Road businesses around the county to maximize the effectiveness of the cleanup. KRB is also partnering with Riverkeeper for this year's Hudson River Sweep on May 11th.

Orangetown Cleanup Coordinator Janet Kroboth-Weber showed the 2013 Bag-A-Thon video, which is used to promote sponsored cleanups as fundraisers for schools and other organizations.

KRB's new mascot "Cleanup KiRBy" was introduced. This little green gnome will be popping up at littered sites around the county. Anyone who finds KiRBy during their cleanup can return him to win prizes!
