"APPLES" Poker Run Benefits People to People

The "APPLES" Poker Run to benefit People To People is sold out. 52 teams of four will participate in the event which starts and finishes at Doyler & Dunney’s.

Elaine Apfelbaum devised the Poker Run to bring customers to New City’s Main Street businesses and to support local non profit organizations.  The recipient of this year's event is People to People.

Jokers were added to each deck so there is room for 54 teams.  There are53 teams registered so far.  Additional teams are welcome to register and participate in  special raffle prize drawings instead of competing for the best poker hand.

This is all about fund raising for "People to People" and making a fun, social afternoon of it. Come on down and register!! Please bring donations of non-perishable foods.

The teams stop at five Main Street restaurants: The Castle Inn, The Clubhouse, CB’s Kitchen, La Terrazza and Doyler and Dunney's.  Each team of four picks a card from a deckof cards at each participating restaurant.  All 52 teams will return to Doyler and Dunney’s by 4:30 pm.  The teams with the best poker hands wins prizes, provided by the five restaurants.

Last year's Poker Run benefited Helen Hayes Hospital and raised more than $8,000.
