Child Care Resources of Rockland Holiday Bookdrive at Barnes & Noble

Child Care Resources of Rockland (CCRR) and Barnes & Noble Bookstores in Rockland have once again joined to share the gift of literacy with children in need who attend child care programs in Rockland County. The Nanuet bookstore will collect new books purchased from their store for children from birth through 8th grade.

The drive kicked off on Monday, November 1st and will continue through January 1, 2011.

Last year, the Barnes & Noble Bookstore in Nanuet had approximately over 2,400 books were donated and distributed. Barnes & Noble of Nanuet had the most donated books within their region (which includes larger counties such as Westchester).

CCRR and Barnes & Noble are so very impressed and appreciative of the generosity shown to the children by the Rockland County Community these past two years. They anticipate another charitable year. Child Care Resources of Rockland will distribute the donated books to children in child care programs throughout the county.

Child Care Resources of Rockland is very thankful to Jocelyn Ford, the store Manager of the Nanuet bookstore, for the kindness she has shown to the community and entrusting CCRR through this collaboration in the distribution of the donated books to the many child care programs and families that need them.

Barnes & Noble distributed 1.16 million books to children nationwide last year and they hope to duplicate that success again this year. The staff at the Nanuet store and CCRR made selections of books recommended for young children and young readers. Barnes & Noble encourages the entire community to continue to be involved and make a gift for a child in need, a gift that can change a life.
