The Rockland County Volunteer Firemen’s Association/Stuart L. Gates Scholarships will be awarded at 8 p.m., Friday, July 9, at the monthly meeting of the RCVFA at the Hillcrest firehouse, Route 45 near Eckerson Road.
The two scholarships, $1,250 each, will be awarded to graduating high school seniors whose fathers or grandfathers are RCVFA members. Scholarship chairman James Hartwick of the Nyack Fire Department will make the presentations along with the scholarships’ namesake, Stuart L. Gates, a volunteer with the Stony Point Fire Department.
