Free 'Shred It' Day

Palisades Federal Credit Union, the largest Rockland County based credit union, hosts its annual “Rockland County Shred it Day” on Oct 15.

The multi-location event is free to all residents and will take place from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m. at each of the Credit Union’s Rockland County branches.

“As Rockland County’s community Credit Union, we strive to provide our members and the local community with financial security and protection,” said Mark Welshoff, President & CEO. “We understand the severity of identity theft and fraud and are delighted to once again provide preventative services, such as Shred it Day to the Rockland County community.”

The Credit Union, which founded this annual event, is inviting any individual who lives, works, worships or volunteers in Rockland County to participate in this year’s festivities by shredding documents that contain personal identifying information such as, social security numbers, account information, addresses, and telephone numbers.

WHAT: Rockland County Shred It Day – Free Document Shredding

WHERE: Palisades Federal Credit Union Branch Locations:

Nanuet – 240 East Route 59 Nanuet, NY 10954

New City – 244 South Main Street, New City, NY 10956 

Orangeburg - 16 Orangetown Center, Orangeburg, NY 10962

WHEN:  Saturday, Oct. 15 from 10 am - 12 pm.

WHY: To help community members protect themselves against identity theft by shredding papers containing confidential information.

Cost: Free for all personal documents – Businesses may only shred up to 10lbs

The Shred trucks will be in front of each of the Credit Union’s branches during the event. Individuals who participate, will watch their documents being shredded and have a chance to win a $100 American Express Gift Card.
