Grand Master Of Masons Officiates At New Masonic Hall Dedication

The same Masonic Ceremonies that George Washington used to lay the cornerstone of the U.S. Capitol and so many other public buildings, will be employed Saturday, June 2nd when the Grand Master of Masons in the State of New York dedicates the new Masonic Hall in New Windsor. James E. Sullivan, Grand Master of New York Masons, and his Grand Line of Officers will officiate at the noon Ceremonies as Hudson River Lodge No 309 F & AM marks completion of its new home. The public is invited to attend.

The last time these ceremonies were seen in Orange County was in March 2008 when the Ben Gilman Center for International Studies at SUNY Orange in Middletown was dedicated with full Masonic ritual.

The dedication and grand opening of the new Masonic Hall in New Windsor comes after years of planning and hard work by the members of Hudson River Lodge. The Lodge's prior meeting space in the heart of Newburgh was in need of extensive and costly renovations and the Lodge opted to sell that property and build anew. According to the Master of Hudson River Lodge, Worshipful Dan Elliot, refreshments will be served throughout the day as Masons, family and friends gather for this event.
