Home Aides of Rockland Forty-Plus-One Anniversary and Awards Celebration

Home Aides of Rockland, Inc. will hold its Forty-Plus-One Anniversary and Awards Celebration on Sunday, October 24, 2010 from 6-10 pm, honoring three local community members for their support.

Dan Mazzaro, owner of Aldan Press, The Honorable Harriet Cornell, Chair of the Rockland County Legislature and Mark Welshoff, President of Palisades Federal Credit Union, will be honored at the festive event held at The View on the Hudson in Piermont.

Vashtie Miller-Cradle will receive the 2010 Marion Maher Aide of the Year Award. The Marion Maher award seeks to honor the memory of Marion Maher, who served for more than 11 years as a member of the Board of Directors of Home Aides of Rockland, Inc., lending her knowledge, contacts and opinions to a wide range of issues that impacted both policies and programs.

Funds raised through the Forty-Plus-One event will benefit the Reduced Rate Home Care Program of Home Aides of Rockland, supporting low-income seniors who are coping with frailty, chronic illness and disability. The program provides them with vital home care services making it possible for them to stay in their homes.

Cecilia Halverson, executive director of Home Aides of Rockland said, "We are thrilled to announce this year's dinner and deserving honorees. Their constant efforts on behalf of Home Aides of Rockland, Inc. and dedication to our mission assists us in providing the high level of care and support that we do."
