Training and Educational Series for Parents of Children with Disabilities

The Rockland Independent Living Center, a New City based cross-disability agency assisting persons with disabilities, is offering a monthly training and educational series geared at educating parents of children with disabilities.    The educational sessions are free of charge and will be offered once a month, from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, at our New City
Headquarters, located at 873 Route 45, Suite 110 in New City, New York.  Each month a skilled professional will
present detailed, practical information about the challenges and the available resources for persons with particular disabilities.

The first in the series, which will be held on Monday, October 24 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm, will be a presentation on understanding the CSE process.  The presenter will be Denise Green, who is a parent training information specialist for the Putnam Independent Living Center.  Topics covered in this meeting will include transitioning from pre-school to kindergarten, accessing available
services, and an overview of how the Committee on Special Education works.

Participants are asked to RSVP to dehrenberg@rilc.org or call (845)624-1366 ext. 113
