Alissa (Aliza) Schranz of New City is giving
up her job and traveling to Israel in January to study Torah. She says it is a
decision she has thought about long and hard.
“I have reached a time in my life where I feel I must dedicate and commit to finding myself though the education and spirituality of Judaism,” says Schranz.
She has raised $286 of her $7,000 goal through GoFundMe to help pay for tuition at Sher'aim College of Jewish Studies for Women and for living expenses during the three or four months she will remain in Israel. After completing her Torah study, Schranz plans to go on a 10-day social action mission to Thailand.
