Clarkstown Students Named In National Academic Competitions

Clarkstown North and South high schools both have students named as 2014 National Merit Scholarship Competition semi finalists and commended students. South also has students who are semi finalists in the National Achievement Program. National Merit Scholarship semi finalists will be notified in February if they have been selected as finalists and National Achievement Program semi finalists will be contacted in January if they had been chosen as finalists.

National Merit Scholarship semi finalists are chosen from a pool of 50,000 students who achieved high scores on the PSAT/NMSQT. Approximately 16,000 qualify as semi finalists and must maintain high academic standards to advance to finalists. Commended students are eligible for special scholarships based on their academic promise. National Achievement semi finalists entered the National Achievement Scholarship Program.
