Debate Winner And Dean’s List Designees

New City residents' collegiate achievements

 

Dominican College Debater Heather Eisenstadt brought home a first place trophy in the most recent competition of the Public Forum Debate League. The tournament included participants from Dominican College, Baruch College, SUNY Rockland, Passaic Community College, Yeshiva University, and Stern College. Eisenstadt, was part of a team that won the final round debate in the extemporaneous debating division against the team from Baruch College.

Two sets of awards are given in each division: team awards, based on the quality and strength of arguments made, and individual speaking awards, based on the quality of speaking presentation. Eisenstadt also earned a first place speaking award.

Heather Bergling received academic honors from the College of Community and Public Affairs at Binghamton University by making the University's Dean's List for the Fall 2011 semester.

Ivy Hattem has been cited for academic achievement for the Fall 2011 Semester at the State University of New York College of Technology at Delhi. Hattem, a Culinary Arts Management major, qualified for the Dean's List. To qualify for the Dean's List, a student must have an academic average between 3.5 and 4.0.
