Thanksgiving Holiday Schedules For Bus, Train and Ferry Service

The Rockland County Department of Public Transportation released the Thanksgiving holiday public transportation schedules for Transport of Rockland (TOR), TAPPAN ZEExpress (TZx), TRIPS buses and other transit systems serving Rockland. Today, early “getaway” service will be provided on buses and trains and on Thanksgiving Day, TOR and TZx buses will operate Sunday schedules. 

Today, Wednesday, Nov. 27 

• TOR, TZx, TRIPS paratransit, Spring Valley Jitney and Clarkstown Mini-Trans buses will operate normal weekday service. Extra TZx buses will operate from Tarrytown Rail Station according to normal afternoon schedules in anticipation of early getaway passengers from Metro-North trains.
• Metro-North will operate an early getaway schedule, with a number of trains cancelled or combined. A regular weekday evening schedule resumes after 8:15 p.m. For the Thanksgiving Weekend schedule, go to www.mta.info. 
• New Jersey Transit trains on the Pascack Valley Line will operate an early getaway train from Penn Station at 2:51 p.m. and from Hoboken at 2:58 p.m. A cancelled train normally departs Penn Station at 7:13 p.m. and Hoboken at 7:20 pm. On the Main/Bergen Line, NJT will operate an early getaway train departing Penn Station at 2:33 p.m. and Hoboken at 2:45 pm. A cancelled train normally departs Penn Station at 6:03 and Hoboken at 6:11 pm.
• Coach USA Rockland Coaches (Red & Tan Lines) will offer earlier Rockland-bound express buses from Port Authority bus terminal. Express Route #45 will begin service at 1:30 p.m., Route #47 at 2:15 p.m. and Route #49 at 2 p.m.
• Coach USA Express buses from the Exit 14 Park & Ride lot will operate a modified schedule in the afternoon. Early getaway afternoon buses from Manhattan will be added at 2, 2:30 and 3 p.m. from 56th St. & 5th Ave. and at 2:30 pm from Wall Street. • The Haverstraw-Ossining Ferry will operate an early rush hour connection from the Hudson Line train departing Grand Central Terminal for Ossining at 2:54 p.m. 

Thursday, Nov. 28th - Thanksgiving Day:

• TOR buses will operate Sunday schedules, with no service on TOR #94, #95 and #97 and no TOR #91 service to New City, Yeager Health Center or Helen Hayes Hospital. 
• TZx buses, Coach USA Express from Exit 14 Park & Ride, Clarkstown Mini-Trans, Spring Valley Jitney and the Haverstraw-Ossining Ferry will not operate.
• TRIPS paratransit buses will operate A.D.A. service only.
• Coach USA‘s Rockland Coaches (Red & Tan) buses and Coach USA’s Shortline buses will operate Sunday schedules.

Friday, Nov. 29th:

• TOR, TZx and Clarkstown Mini-Trans will operate normal weekday service. Spring Valley Jitney buses will not operate.
• TRIPS paratransit buses will operate A.D.A. service only.
