Democrats United: Saying "NO" to the "NO" Party

My party just had a primary.

Democrats have primaries because with today's political landscape, the great policy debates of the day aren't between Democrats and Republicans; it's between Democrats and Democrats. We have no litmus test on ideas that might help. We require no purity test on our members, nor do me demonize and ostracize those on the losing end of intra-party debate and vote. We're Democrats - united by core values, only insistent upon on purity of conviction. We are not the party of NO. We don’t vote down budgets without providing a solution.  We are the party of solutions and that’s why we are behind David Fried for County Executive.

As Democrats, we are coming together in ways this county hasn't seen in a long time. After 20 years of Republican control of Rockland County, with a $125m deficit and New York's lowest credit rating, we can't afford four more. We have an opportunity to turn Rockland around and we're not going to squander it. And most importantly, we are going to return control of county government to the people. This is why we are going to elect David Fried as our next County Executive!

I can write pages and pages on why David is the right the person for the job. But I wont do that, to learn about him please visit: http://votefried.com. Instead I’m going to talk briefly about what I want.

As a young professional, I want to be able to stay here and raise a family here if I so choose. I want Rockland County to thrive as a robust and vibrant community. I want to ensure that the next generation is not burdened with out of control debt and that young people in schools today get the same quality education I was afforded. I want a candidate that can bring together all segments of our community to better our community. I want a forward thinking leader who makes hard decisions tempered with both logic and compassion. That is why I want (we NEED) David Fried to serve as our next County Executive.
