Yoga: Cat and Dog Pose

Great workout for a flexible spine!

Its one of the principle poses in Yoga. It makes the spine flexible and extremely important pose for the health of the entire body. The cat and dog yoga pose is a great warm-up exercise for stretching the shoulders and the back and can be practiced by anyone.

Come onto your hands and knees.
As you breathe, drop the belly towards the floor. Tilt the hips up and open chest and look up
This will create a concave in the spine.
As you breathe out, pull the belly towards the spine. Tilt and tuck the pelvis inwards and drop the chin to chest.
This will create a convex in the spine.
Repeat several times incorporating with the breath.
Relax back into "Balasana" (Childs Pose)
