Trivia Questions about Property Taxes and Government Spending

A few trivia facts for senior citizens about social security and property taxes.

Deficits mean future tax increases, pure and simple. Deficit spending should be viewed as a tax on future generations, and politicians who create deficits should be exposed as tax hikers - Ron Paul


Question: Guess what the County of Rockland's deficit is?

Answer: $128 million and climbing

Question: Guess how much the County raised taxes this year?

Answer: 18%

Question: Guess what the Town of Clarkstown's bonded debt is?

Answer: Over $100 million and climbing

Question: Guess how much Clarkstown raised taxes this year?

Answer: 7.7%. (6.2% on the Town bill and 1.5% with a $1.5 million charge placed as a 'fee' on the School bill)

Question: Guess what the increase in Social Security was this year?

Answer: 1.8%. Ten times less than the County raised taxes and four times less than the Town raised taxes.

Bonus Question: Guess what the anticipated increase in Social Security is for next year?

Answer: Approximately 1.5%

Super Bonus Question: Guess by how much 1) County and 2) Clarkstown property taxes will rise next year?
