New City Library Needs Your Help

Next Thursday, Nov. 21 at 7 PM, will be the last meeting of the New City Library Board of Directors before the election of three new trustees.  The election will be held on Wed., Dec. 11, 9 AM to 9 PM at the library.

I urge residents of New City, Bardonia, and Congers (areas served by the New City Library) to attend this board meeting at the library to witness the crisis that the board is in.  It has been dysfunctional for over two years, with a president and his followers in control of the board.  This majority has made detrimental decisions, brought on a lawsuit against the library, caused the loss of three valuable long-term employees, and has been reprimanded by the Ramapo Catskill Library System for its actions.

If you cannot attend the board meeting on Nov. 21, check the Library Watch website www.nclibrarywatch.org  for reports of all board meetings, posted within 48 hours after each meeting.  The New City Library Watch was organized to inform the community about the actions of the library board, to support qualified trustee candidates, and to encourage the public to participate in the elections of trustees.  The overwhelming support of the public in last year’s trustee election demonstrated that the public is aware of the existing problems with the board and wants to change its direction.

The only way to restore the board to operate openly, honestly, ethically, and in the public’s best interest is to elect independent trustees who are highly qualified, experienced, and dedicated to serving the public.  The New City Library Watch recommends that you vote for these 3 candidates:  Ralph Sabatini, Jeffrey Sasson, and David Zuckerberg.
