Retired newspaper photographer Warren W. Inglese of Congers died on Monday at age 87.
Arrangements are being handled by Hannemann Funeral Home, 88 S. Broadway, Nyack, NY 10960, 845-358-0573.
Mr. Inglese, a decorated veteran of World War II, was an award-winning photographer who for many years was chief photographer for The Journal News in Rockland County.
By then, even with just a few years on the job in Rockland though with long experience in Westchester County, Warren Inglese was a well-respected photographic artist whose composition and print-making were spectacular. His measured approach to photography, using correct lighting, balancing the pose and eliciting the right expressions, made him a fine studio man. But he also excelled in spot news, such as his compelling coverage of the March 1972 Congers bus/train crash in which five Nyack High School students perished. Warren had a long career and, it seems, an enjoyable retirement, continuing his artistic life all those seasons. May he rest in peace.
Love, Steve
