Obiturary: Alex Kiel Burger, 23

Alex Kiel Burger of New City, who was known for his kindness and for brightening up the day for those around him, passed away at age 23 on June 23.

“Alex made the world a brighter and happier place to be. He will be remembered by every soul he touched,” his obituary reads. “Alex, the impact you’ve had on all our lives will live on in all our hearts, forever.” 

Burger enjoyed spending time with his family, being outdoors and fishing. He had a deep passion for music, movies and cooking.

Burger was a graduate of Clarkstown North High School and The New England Culinary Institute, where he mastered the art of fine cuisine. 

He was born on April 29 in Nyack to Adria Crispino and Everett Burger who survive him. He is also survived by Luigi Crispino and Jeannie Burger; his siblings Hannah, Pheobe and Lucas; step siblings Kristen, Megan, Amanda, Alexa and Teddy; his grandparents Joan, Everett, Rita and David; as well as his aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

His wake will be held on June 28 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and again at 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Joseph W. Sorce F.H. Inc. in West Nyack. A service will also be held on Saturday, June 29 at 11:30 a.m. at Living Hope Fellowship in Tomkins Cove, with a luncheon immediately following the service.
