** Anonymous Political Mass Mailings: A Call for an Investigation **

This week I went to the Monsey post office to see if I could figure out the origin of the political flyer slamming Dennis Malone ("Malone's Place") and his family. The flyer arrived in my mailbox with no return address. Obviously the sender wanted it this way. I met Dennis only once, when he campaigned in my neighborhood a few weeks ago. However, when someone's family is dragged into a political race I get annoyed.
I met with the Supervisor at the post office who said he couldn't provide further information. However, I compared the postal imprint, paper size and paper stock to other political flyers I received. The flyers all vary in paper size and paper stock. However, the pro-Wayne Ballard flyer I received ("The candidate you can trust!") is the ONLY ONE that has the EXACT SAME postal imprint as "Malone's Place": "PRSRT STD U.S Postage PAID Permit #9161 Monsey, NY" Also, the paper size & stock is IDENTICAL as are the 2 adhesive circles used to seal the flyers closed for mailing.
Today I received another flyer in my mailbox called "Never Tolerate Corrupt Politicians." It slams Dennis Malone and Frank Borelli. It is the exact same paper size and paper stock as "Malone's Place" (anti-Malone) and "The candidate you can trust!" (pro-Ballard). Interestingly, a stamp was placed over the postal imprint. Yes, I peeled back the stamp and lo and behold it is postal imprint #9161 in Monsey.
Wayne, I have 2 questions for you:
1) Are you involved with or do you know who is involved with the mailing of the political flyer "Malone's Place"?
2) Why haven't you spoken out in defense of your employee, Victoria Malone (your opponent's daughter), who is named in the flyer "Malone's Place?"
I believe there should be an investigation, overseen by the Clarkstown Board of Ethics, to determine what Wayne Ballard knew about this flyer. Victoria Malone may be the daughter of Wayne's opponent, but she is also employed by Wayne and the Town of Clarkstown and in my opinion this flyer crossed the line and its source needs to be discovered.

Carpe Diem
