The College of New Rochelle junior volleyball co-captain Meghan King (New City, NY/Clarkstown North HS) has earned Association of Division III Independents (AD3I) Volleyball Player of the Week accolades, it was announced Tuesday by the conference office.
King concluded a record-breaking season for The College of New Rochelle by leading the Blue Angels to a HVIAC Championship, earning Tournament MVP honors in the process. On the week, she led CNR to a perfect 4-0 record, running its winning streak to a school record nine matches. King posted three double-doubles and three matches with 15 or more kills. In the win over Culinary Institute, the junior hit .371 (15 kills against just two errors), adding 10 digs and two aces. In a road win over Rutgers-Newark, King slammed home 15 kills while digging up a career-high 24 balls. The co-captain averaged 3.47 kills, 3.60 digs and 0.53 aces per set as the team became the first CNR volleyball team and first team in any sport since the 1998-99 basketball season to reach the 20 win plateau.
