Clarkstown North Students Raise Funds for Meals on Wheels

On Saturday April 5th and Sunday April 6th, the Clarkstown High School North SAM (Students Assisting Meals) Club conducted a coin drop outside of ShopRite in New City.  The mission of this club is to fundraise and spread awareness for Meals on Wheels of Rockland County.  The mission of Meals on Wheels is to help the homebound, seniors and others in Rockland County through a multipurpose agency which focuses on nutritional, recreational and social support programs.  Some of these programs include the five senior centers across Rockland County, the Adult Day Program and the Adult Learning Center.

Members of the club stood outside New City ShopRite from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. both days.  The club received approximately $900 in donations from the generous shoppers of Rockland County.  All the donations will go directly to Meals on Wheels of Rockland County to support their programs that help seniors who are homebound and in need.  The SAM Club would like to thank everyone who donated to this effort and is happy to be supporting a worthwhile organization like Meals on Wheels.
