East Ramapo School Board Attorney Needs To Go

Dear Editor:

They say that actions speak louder than words.  Now that the holiday has started, I'd like to take the time to share the actions that filled my day yesterday.

After watching the video posted on YouTube with Chris Kirby lambasting East Ramapo parents, I called the New York State Bar Association and am in the process of filing a formal complaint against the attorney for East Ramapo demanding that he be disbarred or suspended from the bar for conduct not becoming of an attorney or officer of the court.  I also spoke with the school district and demanded either his voluntary resignation or his immediate termination.

suggested that next time, they hire an attorney that has self-control and the ability to hold him or herself to the most stringent professional ethical standards and recognize that protecting the interests of the district's children, parents, and taxpayers comes above protecting his own.  There are enough unemployed attorneys in this state at this point that I am sure they won't have trouble filling the vacancy with an honorable and qualified candidate.

As a product of the East Ramapo School district, parent of a child who recently graduated from East Ramapo, and a candidate for Ramapo Town Supervisor; I cannot sit idly by when the interests of our town's youngest residents are in jeopardy.  As the Supervisor of Ramapo, I will do everything within my power to make sure that all of the children of our town have the ability to receive a great education.  Have a Happy Independence Day.

Sincerely,
Scott Goldman
